Wheels of time could never turn

backward to make me young again

but I am grateful that my time

continues forward,

giving me a perspective

I never would have

imagined when I was young.

Thankful that I have

grown to see where my strength lies

and what talents I have acquired

and sharpened over time.

How so much has

changed both inside and out.

Same body,

different shape

with the same mind

yet different framing.

I like to think

I’ve made myself proud.

Three years into my promise

to give this the best shot that I can.

Figuring out where I know I belong

because there has to be a place,

a reason.

If the reason is to simply be

that’s okay too.

Time fast forward,

I think I’m making future me happy too.

I’ll look back and remember

all it took to build the life I’ve wanted.

And in this present moment,

I promise to keep going.
